I have many WIP’s to discuss this week. I have a set of market bags that I’m trying to work on for the summer. I’m hoping to get a bicycle at some point soon and I’ll go to the farmers market to get fresh fruits and such. I’m really excited. I’m using Caron Cotton Cakes. They came out with a few new colorways so while I was in Bismarck a few weeks ago for training I bought some.
I’m also working on a squared waffle stitch afghan for myself. It’s a very warm stitch and I absolutely love the way it’s coming together. For that project I’m using Caron Big Cakes in the Boysenberry colorway. I’ll be using 8 to 10 cakes in total. This is probably my favorite project to date. I love these colors.
It’s no secret that I’m 100% in love with the Caron Cakes line of yarn. I find the colors very diverse and the texture is so soft. I hope to continue to use them.
I still try and do some charity work making hats for babies and so forth. Even with my life being a little crazy lately I know that I wouldn’t be happy if I wasn’t crocheting or knitting some project.
With all this being said, life is hard sometimes. But, with some yarn and a little imagination you can bring some beauty to an otherwise ugly situation.
I was hoping to finish my yarnbox shawl today since I’ll be getting another box either Monday or Tuesday. However, I woke up with a kink in my neck so bad I can’t move. So, needless to say I’m not doing anything today.
Hubby is out for the night at his buddies house so I get a chance to watch movies that he hates. Lol.
I’ve been doing some research on new projects and have found a virus stitch afgan pattern that I find interesting. I’m going to need about 6-8 skeins so I might mix and match some Caron cakes. I just have to figure out what colorways to mix. Or maybe mix and match Bernat Pops or the Premier Sweet Rolls that I just bought.
This also gives me the opportunity to catch up on my blog. I’ve been surprised by the amount of readers that have visited my site in the last few weeks. It’s truly humbling. So I’d like to say thank you to my readers, all of you in the US and overseas. I’m happy to have you here. Thank you!
Well. It’s a super windy day in central North Dakota. In some parts of the state the roads are closed due to high winds and blowing snow. Lucky for me I was able to get some grocery shopping done so hubby and I have some food.
So what is a girl to do? I’m working on some of my unfinished projects. I put down my basket weave blanket a while ago and haven’t really picked it back up, until now. I’m trying to get the 30 or so skeins of yarn for this blanket gone so I can buy more different yarn.
Speaking of. Anyone who knows me knows that I am obsessed with finding new yarn and a while ago Bernat brand yarn came out with their own cake similar to Caron Cakes. It’s called the Bernat Pop. My friend just texted me to tell me that they are officially at the Walmart in town. I’M SO EXCITED!!! I’m not going to drive 10 miles in this ugly weather to get the yarn but I might if I have the ability tomorrow. I have enough money to drop on this. I can’t wait to add Bernat Pop to my stash.
I also managed to talk my husband into letting me use one of the spare bedrooms into a kind of office/ arts & crafts room. I’ll be able to have a space dedicated to knitting and crochet, this blog, and anything else I happen to want to use it for. I’ll get a desk and a ton of storage space for my projects. And a printer to print off any patterns I find. I can’t wait to get that up and running. Good things are in my future.
New projects thanks to my ever growing pintrest finds. I love that app so much but good god does it mean that I now have new projects in my life.
The start of a 10 stitch blanket.
I’m already loving how this yarn is working out for this blanket.
My yarnbox has also been shipped. I’m so excited to get it. I’ll post about it when I get it. I should have it next weekend.
Anyway. That’s all for now. Happy knitting.
