I took a very long break from this blog. I had many things on my mind and needed some time to work on things.
Mother’s day passed on the 13th and the Monday before was the two year anniversary of my mom’s passing. In that time I was thinking more about what would make my mom proud and that would mean doing what makes me happy so here I am back at it.
I’m revamping this blog to make it more streamlined with my work schedule. Speaking of I’m still working as a phlebotomist, however, I’m also working on an ambulance crew down here so I’m back to working two jobs.
I’ll also be going back to school for an accounting degree. I eventually want to start a business selling yarn and all things knitting and crochet. I figured that this would be a good way to start.
The new set up is as follows.
Saturdays- Stories (Things I find online that would be interesting reads)
Wednesdays- WIP’s (I’ll discuss my progress on my projects)
Mondays- Moments (Thoughts I have about things going on in my life)
I’m very excited to get back to my crazy, busy, hectic life. I love staying busy with work and life. Many things are changing around here and I’m glad they are working out for the best!
I have a lot of WIP’s right now.
It started with a scarf, that I still haven’t finished.
My kitten was helping by distracting me from my knitting. I still love her though.
I’m still working on my temperature blanket. We’ve been having some unusually warm weather and so I’ve been able to put a few colors into play.
And while I was in bismarck this last Saturday, I stopped by Michael’s and picked up some Caron cakes.
Now I’m working on a loom knit blanket. I’m excited to see how it turns out.
That’s all for now. Happy knitting.
I finished my hat! I’m so proud of this thing!
And I was just asked to make my coworker a hat. I even accepted it. I think that this purchase was easily the best $15 I’ve ever spent.
I know there are a lot of charities that desire hand knitted hats for premie babies, children with cancer, even adults with cancer. Maybe I’ll start knitting for those things. Charities like that have always been pretty close to my heart. My sister was a premie, my mom had cancer twice before she passed, and I’ve known a few people that have had cancer as children.
Anyways, I’m still working on my temperature blanket. I’m going to have a lot of colors in it. Our weather has been on one wild roller coaster for the last couple months. I’ll post pictures of it soon.
A new year a new adventure. I’m learning how to knit on a loom. I’ve seen it before but never tried it. So, I’m knitting a hat to go with the scarf I’m knitting.
I decided to learn because I hate knitting in the round. Had I known that it was going to be this easy I would have learned years ago.
I started my hat on a 29cm circular loom. Turns out that is a little big for my tiny head.
So I frogged the yarn and started over on a 24cm loom. This one looks way better.
Less than an hour later I have the brim done and I’m working on the hat part of the hat.
I think I’m going to like this project.
