Cookies!

Today is a slow day for me. A very lazy day with not much to do. So I decided to crack open a cookbook an make some cookies. So I grab the book that is the guide book to my spirit animal. “Eat Like a Gilmore” by Kristi Carlson.

I decided to make the rocky road cookies. They looked good in the show and they sounded good today so why not.

The recipe calls for the cookie sheets to be lined with parchment paper. Well, I didn’t have that at first, and I barely had aluminum foil. Absolutely needed parchment paper… The first batch was a little rockier than I had anticipated. They stuck to the foil.

So, I then sent my husband to the store to get parchment paper. They started to look better after that. Now that I’m making cookies from the book it’s time to watch some Gilmore Girls an knit. I have to get caught up on my temperature blanket and finish my shawl from my yarn box.

Dinner tonight is one of my favorite foods. It’s something my mom used to make especially when it was cold out. Tomato soup and dumplings. A great way to end a great day!

WIP’s and Chains Excite Me.

I have a lot of WIP’s right now.

It started with a scarf, that I still haven’t finished.

My kitten was helping by distracting me from my knitting. I still love her though.

I’m still working on my temperature blanket. We’ve been having some unusually warm weather and so I’ve been able to put a few colors into play.

And while I was in bismarck this last Saturday, I stopped by Michael’s and picked up some Caron cakes.

Now I’m working on a loom knit blanket. I’m excited to see how it turns out.

That’s all for now. Happy knitting.

Loom Knitting Part 2

I finished my hat! I’m so proud of this thing!

And I was just asked to make my coworker a hat. I even accepted it. I think that this purchase was easily the best $15 I’ve ever spent.

I know there are a lot of charities that desire hand knitted hats for premie babies, children with cancer, even adults with cancer. Maybe I’ll start knitting for those things. Charities like that have always been pretty close to my heart. My sister was a premie, my mom had cancer twice before she passed, and I’ve known a few people that have had cancer as children.

Anyways, I’m still working on my temperature blanket. I’m going to have a lot of colors in it. Our weather has been on one wild roller coaster for the last couple months. I’ll post pictures of it soon.

Happy knitting!
